Appointment as Parliamentary Assistant to Minister of Citizenship & Multiculturalism

Sheref Sabawy, Member of Provincial Parliament for Mississauga—Erin Mills, issues the following statement following the Office of the Premier’s updates to Parliamentary Assistant roles:

I am humbled to be appointed by Premier Doug Ford as the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Citizenship and Multiculturalism of Ontario, the Hon. Michael Ford. As the first Parliamentarian of Egyptian-Coptic Origins to be elected in Ontario’s history, I understand the importance of Ontario’s multiculturalism.

I would like to thank the Hon. Todd McCarthy, the Minister of Public and Business Service Delivery for his hard-work and entrusting me for the last year on delivering services directly to Ontarians and making them more accessible.

I am excited to start working with Minister Ford to build on our Government’s work to ensure Ontario is a place for all. I will continue to work hard for my constituents of Mississauga—Erin Mills; and I am always here to serve.
