MPP Sabawy’s 2025 Iftar Remarks

MISSISSAUGA – On Wednesday, March 26, 2025, Sheref Sabawy, Member of Provincial Parliament for Mississauga-Erin Mills, hosted a public community iftar event at his constituency office.

He provided the following remarks:

  • Thank you!
  • Good evening, everyone.
  • Ramadan Mubarak to all of you!
  • I am very happy to welcome all of you here in my office.
  • Special thanks to our elected officials and dignitaries joining us as well, including Councillors Mahoney & Horneck, and the Honourable Minister Nina Tangri.
  • This has been a busy few months for everyone, but thank you for joining me on this special occasion.

Appreciation

  • I want to start by expressing my sincere thanks to all of you, and to the people of Mississauga—Erin Mills.
  • Thanks to your support, I was sworn-in earlier this week for my third term as your Member of Provincial Parliament for Mississauga—Erin Mills.
  • I could not be here today without the support of the local community, my amazing team, and all of you.

Protecting Ontario

  • Over the past few months, we have been working on a strong mandate to protect Ontario.
  • We know that there is a lot of uncertainty right now.
  • People are feeling threatened by Trump’s tariffs.
  • Jobs, the economy, our community are all at risk.
  • Ontario needs a leader that is ready to fight for us.
  • Over the past few months, Doug Ford has proven that he is the leader who will protect Ontario.
  • He is our very own “Captain Canada.”
  • Under his leadership, we will build a stronger province that is ready to weather any storm.
  • That’s why last month we ran a campaign that was built on a few key principles:
  • Building Ontario’s Economy
  • Protecting Workers
  • Keeping Ontario Competitive
  • Cleaning up our streets
  • Delivering better care and services
  • And being ready for anything
  • While Donald Trump continues to threaten us,
  • and while the future of our federal government remains uncertain,
  • our provincial PC government will continue to promote the strong leadership that Ontario needs and deserves.
  • We are excited to deliver on our promises and build a stronger Ontario for everyone.

Conclusion

  • As always, we’ll be here if you have any troubles.
  • Please feel free to call me or contact my office if you have any questions, ideas, or concerns.
  • We’re always happy to fight for you and continue building a stronger future for all Ontarians.
  • Please have a great evening. The food is almost ready.
  • I look forward to shaking hands and taking pictures with all of you.
