Friends and neighbours,
Our government recognizes the importance of building infrastructure. Over the last few years we have been working hard to build the world-class transit and highway projects that Ontarians deserve.
For example, when the Highway 401 expansion from Mississauga to Milton was completed, many constituents reached out to tell me about the tremendous impact that this investment had at reducing congestion.
And we’re just getting started. Projects like the Highway 413 and the Hazel McCallion LRT will continue to connect commuters in Mississauga to their destinations. Two-way all-day service on the GO rail corridor will improve connectivity even more.
We have also implemented the “One Fare” program — saving transit riders up to $1600 per year.
In fact, Ontario is currently undertaking the largest transit investment in North America. The Ontario Line, the Scarborough subway extension, the Eglinton Crosstown, and the Dundas BRT — just to name a few. With $70.5 billion being invested in transit projects, we’re connecting commuters to their destinations in a fast and efficient manner. All the while, putting money back in people’s pockets.
These transportation projects will get people and goods moving and make life easier for all Ontarians. Rest assured, we will get it done.
Sincerely,
Sheref Sabawy
